Sandy Gomas
We are proud to share that Sandy Gomas, RN Care Manager at The Emerald Peek Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, has been chosen as Professional of the Quarter.
Sandy has been a part of the Emerald Peek family for two years. As a registered nurse for seventeen years, she was inspired by her grandmother who was a nurse and her father who was a volunteer EMS; she shared that it was their guidance that led to her profession choice.
“My dad always taught us about giving, and about being a true humanitarian; that someone else’s needs can be greater than ours.”
Sandy’s role at the Emerald Peek allows her to have a hands on clinical role, as well as ensuring quality follow up and interaction.
“If you had asked me five years ago where I’d want to be, it’d be here,” she started, “I hate calling it a job. You have to love what you do. I love being a nurse. It’s who I am, and what I love to do every day.”
Not only does Sandy touch the lives of her residents and patients, her fellow team members had nothing but kind words to share about Sandy and the difference she makes in the community.
To Sandy, however, she was overwhelmed by the heartfelt nomination as Professional of the Quarter: “The team, the people that are here… it’s a great, great team. We all help each other. It’s not just me, I belong to this team. We make miracles happen here.”
Sandy Gomas, you are #TheCareRiteDifference!
