Details of experience:

Gene was admitted to the HVHEMRGCY due to a fall. experienced a fall while at home due to difficulty with balance. After thorough testing while an inpatient at the hospital, Gene was transferred to our community at Emerald Peek to receive Physical Therapy with our amazing Rehabilitation Department.

The patient stated that his stay at The Emerald Peek was initially challenging, similar to any change in a person’s environment. It takes time to adjust. He shared that he felt the Rehab staff did a great job providing him with the necessary treatment to help him gain strength. Their words of encouragement have motivated him to continue and build his strength.

As time continued, so did Gene’s strength and determination to go home. Gene would use the wheelchair with his legs to move around and gradually began to use a walker with his therapist’s help. Gene has done an amazing job working hard to make it home before July 4th, 2024. He told me he can’t wait to get on the grill and be home with his family.

Gene had the pleasure of meeting his team, consisting of the concierge, unit nurse manager, PT, dietician, LPN, and CNA. Gene complimented the Rehab staff member and the Concierge and was recuperating beautifully. His identified goals would help improve his ability to enhance mobility and movement, balance, and fall prevention.

Gene worked his way up in PT/OT to use a walker and feel confident in his strides and movements on his own. As his strength gradually progressed, so did his passion for wanting to walk out of our community. Gene has always complimented the hard-working staff who have assisted him within our community.

Gene was discharged on June 27th, 2024. He greatly appreciates our staff for assisting him in gaining the mobility needed to walk out of The Emerald Peek. He says the greatest highlight of his discharge is going home to be with his family.

Gene, your strength, willpower, and the pleasure and pride your team at The Emerald Peek felt as they supported you in your recovery and renewal gave us immeasurable joy. Thank you for allowing me to be your Concierge at The Emerald Peek.
