RN Care Manager

Sandy followed in her grandmother’s footsteps of becoming a nurse but at an early age it was her father’s influence that inspired her to want to help others. Sandy’s dad, who was a volunteer EMS, told Sandy how important it was to give to others who had less, and to do it with a happy heart. “I feel so fortunate to be able to work in a field I am so passionate about.” Sandy received her Bachelor’s in Nursing at Mount St. Mary's College in Newburgh. She has worked at St. Vincents Hospital in Manhattan as Supervisor of the Neurophysiology Department. She became a surgical nurse at NYP/Columbia Presbyterian in Manhattan learning from top surgeons and caring for many surgical patients with unique illnesses. But it wasn’t until she cared for a family member in a subacute setting that she realized it was this environment that truly gave her a "happy heart." Now, The Emerald Peek’s RN Care Manager, Sandy is a major contributor to the transformation of our community.
