Each month the residents of Emerald Peek travel to varying destinations near and far.  In July, the community traveled to the island of Japan!  Residents and staff enjoyed a variety of Japanese cuisine, including sushi, Udon noodles and green tea, a first for many of our residents!

The themed craft for the event was creating personalized Origami birds while listening to authentic Japanese music. Many had the opportunity to even learn Japanese phrases and select words.  The therapeutic recreation department researched and shared Japanese culture and customs with all in attendance.  As we say, “Sayonara” to Japan, we head to the sunny beaches of California for our next Destination Vacation!
